The Osim iSqeeze! Ta-dum! And yes, as I'm blogging right now, I'm actually killing two birds in one stone- There's this common saying: Let your fingers to the talking(yah,I'm typing), I say: Let my feet do the RESTING! Hahahaha...and I mean Foot Massage here! :D Right,ok, on second thought, let's not be tacky here... *tsk tsk*

Neway,I felt pretty bored this afternoon, and I've decided to pick out an all time favourites childhood book...*drumroll again*... It's Charlotte's Web! It's really one of my best book up till today, and I'm not embarrassed to say that I almost cried upon reading the second last chapter (where Wilbur's best friend, Charlotte, the spider, died). It's really very moving.

Oh yah, yesterday afternoon, Becky came over my place, and I prepared lunch, well, not exactly...I practically screeched through the whole time. *blushes* I mean, who wouldn't? My maid,Yaya, dropped a nugget in the frying pan and the oil sizzles and then a drop or two of oil would come into contact on my arm. Ouch! Sorry, but I learnt in pure physics under the chapter on Heat that a small drop of hot oil, having a smaller surface area, would have more internal heat energy and resulting in me crying out OUCH! Wow, my oh my, aren't I preaching about physics...Well, yah, so neway, you know, same old Becky and I, we never fail to snap pictures! Who can resist the wonders of technology- I mean cameras, her phone's totally awesome, we manage to snap some pics from her camera phone, oh and did I mention that Saffie was in the picture too? *chuckles*

I'm totally on CLOUD NINE!

"You can get anything. Anything you ask for in prayer, if you believe."
-Matthew 21:22

"For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will be open."
-Matthew 7:8

Hi hi! I'm back! Guess what...I've....Got...My...End-of-year examinations....RESULTS!!! Let me see...Hmm...is it GOOD :) or baD :( Well, what do ya think?

Duh! Good results of coz! As if i would be blogging if i were to receive :( bad test results...

Yeah, so neway, I was totally shocked when i got back all 7 subject results, I mean, I wasn't even expecting such results. Hey, wait a minute, what do i mean by 'good' results. The term 'good' is very subjective. Right, so let me define it.(as always, my sis, being my Eng tutor, she advises her students to define terms for every expository essay)

Good means:
1. Getting 2 A1s (yeah, i luv Emaths and PureChem so much!)

2. 1 A2 (OMG! Finally a distinction for my ENGLISH- teacher faith, aren't u proud of ur beloved student? hehe :P)

3. 2 B3s ( Scored e highest-again for EGeog, not too bad for SS, well i must say i've improved drastically *smiles*, AMaths)

4. Lowest grade - B4! Yeah! (Chinese-it used to be C5, hallelujah! the cat no longer exists! Oh PurePhysics wasn't my best, but oh well, there's always next time to score betta!)

This time round, I didn't really start an early preparation for the final year exams, well, *blushes* i started 2 wks before the 1st paper actually. I guess prayer really does changes things. I live by those 2 verses above, and eventually I made a breakthrough, I sat for the whole final year examination, and not only that, with good results that seem totally unexpected! Well, there's only one person to give thanks for- God.

Indeed, with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

Gosh! The past few months have been so wild and busy that its almost a blur in my memory. And consequently, I've neglected my blog. :P Newayz, so much has happened today that I'm not even sure if I can get it all down. But I guess I'll just start at the beginning and work my way through. Kkz, here goes...

Morning: Was in school the whole morning. Since the end of year exams are finally over, our school has arranged for inter-class games. However,I didnt take part in any of the matches cos I've got an impt job to handle. Yes yes, I've been chosen by my form teacher to chair my class's booth in the Fiesta Fair event on 27th Oct 2004 to raise funds for charity. Totally awesome! But also totally strenuous! As the chairman, I have to come out with the business plan which includes creating a template which includes the business objectives, market & research analysis, organizational chart, strategy etc...But i guess, i kinnda enjoy taking up this post..hehe..

Afternoon: Completed reading "Hazel, Not a nut"

5pm onwards: Met Becky for SHOPPING! We agreed to hav a Gals Nite out only...but it turned out tt she brought her 'dear' along...sigh...there goes Ladies Nite... But anyway, thankfully Becky didnt forget me in the picture. She did help me pick a suitable pair of C&K stilettos and we went to Giordano to try out the new range of apparel. We settled for a late dinner at Scotts foodcourt, and man, the Mee Pok dry which i'd ordered was fantastic! But the dessert was even better! I had peach yami yoghurt and it was HEAVEN! I have never tasted frozen yoghurt before, and i didnt know that it would taste that good...hmm..yum yum! After dinner, we continued with more shopping in Metro! We tried some 'interesting' swimwear and laughed our heads off! Wahahaha, man we rock! Adrain left shortly after, and Becky and I shared a Slurpee, and i felt the whole cup to the brim and eventually the water overflowed. What a comical scene! How can i be so daft?!? Neway, that's so much of a commotion in 7 Eleven. Later, we took pictures! Becky didnt bring her digicam, but we can always settle for phone camera! So there we went, snap, snap SNAP!

Sharing our Slurpee

*Yawns* Right, its getting pretty late, til my next update, Good Night!

Happy 1st Birthday blog!

It's exactly one year since my first entry of my blog. Wow, how time flies. Fast isn't it, and of cos, many events have happened which impacted my in someway or another. And you know what, I've actually looked back at my past entries, i nodded my head, gave a pat on my shoulder and said to myself, "Narelle, you've come a long way, you have overcome the stormy sea and windy nights through the year. Back from my HK trip. Been a great experience, learnt how to be independent, cos this time we went for Free N Easy. Let's see...

Hongkong Trip 2004

Day 1
Boarded the airplane. I must say that Cathay Pacific's not too bad. Nice toilet. hehe... This is a pic of the Hongkong International Airport.

Oh and I was a 'Rushian' as in both my Mom and I were travelling non-stop. We met our uncle, and sat the Star Ferry over to Tsim Sha Tsui, where I'll get to meet my 3rd grandaunt. Its been almost 8 yrs since we last met when she came over to S'pore in 1996, i was Pri 2 then. When we met, i could see that she was abt to burst out into tears, she kept sayin that i've grown so much, that she almost couldnt recognise me. Anyway we had a yummilicious dinner, at a Hakka restaurant. Then later a night, i went to visit the Street Markets such as Ladies Street and Sportswear Street. After a quick look at the shops, we went over to 3rd grandaunt's house. The house's really small. Hmm...At that point i was thinking how fortunate i am...

A panaromic view of the city from the peak

Day 2
Did more sighseeing today. Day 1 was just like an orientation day. So in the morning, we took a bus all the way up to The Peak Tower. It was rather chilly up there, freezing cool. It was really high up, and i could feel the clouds! Wow! I shouldnt have worn sleeveless man...Brrr...

Down the peaktram, with my back faced downwards

Day 3
Well, basically, we spent most of the time shopping. Well, what can we say? It's Hongkong... It's either food or shopping. My mom and I took the MTR (equivalent to our Mrt) to the street markets. Yes, I love the bazaars, it gives me a chance to test my bargaining skills. Awesome.

Day 4
In the morning, we went to Stanley Market, a popular beach hangout. Bought some decent beach flipflops, bags and a genuine Roxy jeans. Cool. Once again, it was another fine weather, though a little misty. But i just luv the breeze. Think about it, how often do you get to enjoy the wind brushing against your face? Perfect ambience for couples actually. Haha.

Stanley Beach

Day 5
My mom and I did some last minute shopping around out hotel area in Wan Chai, but most shops weren't open yet. At 11.20am, we sat a bus to the airport, where we bought some delicious HK delicacies, such as the Old Wives Cake and Egg rolls from Wing Wah. I must applaud their attractive packaging, How can one resist? But beyond that, i must say that the cakes were really good. There was a green tea cake which i particularly liked very much. And soon, there i was again, in the plane once again back to S'pore. Home sweet home, here i come!

Let me tell ya, I'm sooooo excited about tomorrow! I don't have to attend school today since its for students sitting for Biology, and on Wednesday its Marking Day, so there I have it, no school again.

During this time, I often lie around in a torpid state. It's getting a little monotonous. I mean, just a week ago, things were moving so fast, little tests lining up, not being able to complete 1/2 semester's syllabus etc. Like my current Chemistry teacher would always say, "We're pressed for time!" Then all of a sudden, it was transition.

Just last Fri, I was transformed into a slacker. No homework. No books. No studying. Just pure relaxation. I did enjoy myself at first, but now... I kindda miss school activity, it keeps me awake, energetic and alert. My current state --- BOREDOM. Frankly speaking, I couldn't picture myself last yr when I lazed around and idle at home for 5 months. Wow, looking back, I start to question myself, "How did I ever manage to past my time?" Well, at least I know now.

So I guess, I'll be heading back to school for my final paper tml, it's the CL Listening Compre, and tt I dun hav to study for. And yes when I can officially state that the Mid Yr's COMPLETELY over. Goodbye Semester 1!

Just came back a while ago from Fish&Co, had a sumptuous dinner as a family. Had their Mother's day recommendation Mama Makerael, hmm...yummilicious!

Wow, it was quite a day for me! This morning, i had to wake up early to go to church, i led worship today at PowerHouse+, lifted my voices in praise for the Lord. I think i was really satisfied with my leading today, heard great feedbacks comping from the youths, esp the one coming from Hannah, who just came back from Canada. But above all, I dedicated all everything to God. And that without Him, i can do nothing.

Later on, i had lunch with Becky at the airport and visited her place. I had lotsa fun playing around with her gadgets, esp the one called "Digital Camera"

Check out "R2N STORIES"...

Cool huh! Mid yr's Over!

Ok, let me count 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,....,21.Yes, its been 21 days since my last update. The past few weeks have been so wild and busy that it's almost a blur in my memory. And consequently, I've neglected my blog. Well, i'll try to catch up if i can, although it won't be easy.

Now, where shall i start?

Hey i tell ya wad, let's just skip the events in the last week of April k?

This May 04, i've comitted myself to walk my dog regularly. She's 9 months now. And getting fatter, she definitely needs some work-outs. It's nice to bring Saffie out for walks, she's really well-behaved outside. There were nice comments coming from dog owners tt i met down at the park. Really glad that my efforts aren't put to waste. I spent about a few weeks training and socialising her. Likewise, i benefit from the walks too. Able to meet up with neighbours in my condo, nice dog owners around here. And nice doggies too.

Since my mid yr exams are over, i tink i get to take a moment off from school work! It's feels great sitting for the exams with your fellow schoolmates, with all the exam mood, you study hard, stay calm, take the exam and when its over, you get this great sense of relief. I'm really anticipating for the moment when i get back my report book...that'll definitely be exhilarating! I'm waiting eagerly.

Today, was my last paper. It was EMaths. It was tough. But I sat through the whole paper, completed all except for one. This whole mid yr exam, i felt really different. Maybe cos' i really surrender all. I told God i've put in my best effort, and the rest i commit into His hands. I was totally calm through the whole time, both the day before and on the day itself of a paper. And the best thing was that, i finally understood that studying and sitting for an exam is a privellege. I gave thanks to the Lord for providing me with a school, with all the facilities and conducive learning environment, parents whom can pay for my school fees, classmates and teachers. And upon this realisation, i told myself that i'm not gonna waste this chance, and that i should make full use of it in a positive way.

Do continue to pray for me so that God can see my through the next 1 1/2 yr more, so that i can complete my O Levels, den i can move on to JC, Uni etc... thankies. :)

Alright, i better go soon, gotta groom Saffie, have my lunch then Yee Shin's coming over my place to play squash and to use the gym. Will be back later to update more.

My TaLeNts...Part III

Just came back awhile ago from The Audioplex (fyi the same rec. studio where local & foreign artistes do their recordings). The whole experience today was a blast. Really. Great studio. Great ambience. Great crews. Basically great EVERYTHING! Finally met Iskandar in person. Shhh....secret, he looks as if he just came back from a picnic or sumthin... ^__^ He sounded like some "Ah Kong" person too. Oopsie! :X But he was really nice, and really patient too. So looking like some old folk back from the beach doesn't seem like a problem anymore. So there we are, all set, Ready...Steady... and....TAKE ONE!

If you guys get to hear the song, there's this instrumental interval. There's like a phrase where 2 students will recite, "From the people you think hold your trust", by a girl, and "We have learnt our lesson fast", by the boy. Do you find the so called little "speech" sounding rather familiar?? Yes, that's right! The recital done by the female is....ME! Cool huh. Yeah, it took me about 10 times to get it done accurately. I wasn't exactly the one supposed to recite that line, but i guess the girl chickened-out, so i asked myself, why not give it a shot? And yes i did, at first, i was really excited, yet nervous as well. Then, i prayed. Suddenly, i feel this sense of serenity and my nerves were calmed down almost immediately, and before i knew it, Iskandar gave me a thumbs up, and it was done! I was like PHEW!

That's so much for today. Have a great weekend ahead! :)

My TaLeNts...Part II

"People that are not involved in the previous recording, please stand," asked Justin, my current school's choir chairperson.

"Please thank our instructor, Mr Yong, and choir teacher-in-charge, Mrs Lock...and you can go" he continued.

I heard little whispers coming from the back, like Yeah! or We Could Finally get home earlier to study!!, yap something like that.

"Thank you Mr Yong, thank you Mrs Lock," replied the members.

A swarm of students dashed to the exit and soon disappeared within seconds. I was still packing my bag and passing my choir file to one of my friends when...

"Hey, Narelle, do stay on with us for the audition of the song 'Memories'," Justin approached me just on time cos I was just about to make a move...

"Ok." I said, though in my heart I was like YES MAN!! and gave a wide grin.

Wow...I was taken by surprise cos' what I know was that I wasn't around when they did the recording of the school song at a recording studio. There will be a compilation of songs into one CD from the Choir, Band and other cultural groups to celebrate my school's 10th Anniversary. Yet...I was really happy to be given this chance to audition. This time we were to record 'Memories', a song written by Iskandar (I hope that's the right spelling!) So very quickly, I sang the song and got through the round! Yeah! And there I am, soon to make a trip to a recording studio- Never in my life have I been there, and furthermore to meet up with people like Iskandar and other famous stars who records at the studio. It sure would be one great experience and eye-opener for me, and I'm gonna make full use of this chance. I'm gonna put in my best effort.

But before I start yakatiyaking abt how excited I am etc etc... what's most important here today --- I've learnt that PRAYER does changes things and that PATIENCE works! I used to rant about why people did not recognize me. Well, this time I've learnt to let God lead the way instead of those useless ranting and to be HUMBLE. And also, before the auditions, yes I must admit that I was rather nervous (human nature, cant help it), but the good thing is that I've decided to find rest in God, and I prayed to ask Him to calm my nerves and that I could give my best later. And TADA! After that I felt really great!

That's so much for my choir updates. Now moving on to the daily routines....

Yesterday, I've gotten back my results for the Emaths paper and Chem paper that I've been tested on last week. I've done fairly well for both, but could have done better though. However, with my new approach to life this year, I've decided that I should be happy with my results since I know that I've allowed God to take control over things. I've put in the effort and have tried my best.

Today, I've gotten back my AMaths paper, erm...didnt expect to get such a low result of C5 grade. I must admit that this time I didn't practice as much as I did for the previous tests that got A1s, however similarly, with my new approach, I won't ponder further and 'cry' over it.

Anyway above all, I still thank God for everything. Cos without Him, we can do NOTHING. And what's best was that through the test weeks, I've managed to constantly find the time to do my QT, have been doing without fail for 3 weeks already, that's GOOD NEWS! Amen! :)

Good Deed

Remember my pal Yee Shin? The one that I'd shared about Christ a few months ago? Been constantly praying for her to accept Christ into her heart, and just last week, Good Friday, I had lent her "JESUS film". I thought it would be a good opportunity for her to watch this film during Easter week, so that she can understand why Christians worldwide celebrate this very special day. Along with the vcd was a special note to her.

Today, she replied my note. Here's her response...

"Dear Narelle, I had finished watching the show. I did not know that he had sacrificed so much for us, human sinners. Before watching, I really didn't believe that Jesus would be willing to give up his life for us. Now, I believe it already. Thanks for lending me this vacate. It helped me understand so much more about Jesus.

I am looking forward to the day that I could go to church with you. I hope that I could learn more. Now I don't really believe in any religion. But I hope that you can help me change the way I feel and think. Waiting for the day that I could become a believer of Christ." ~ Yee Shin

Wow, though she hasn't really accepted Jesus into her heart, I kinda have this sense of euphoria that I have allowed this person to be yet another step closer to having this "new-born" soul and close relationship with God. I would too be looking forward to the day she'll pronounce herself as a child of God. Let's all keep her in our prayers.

:: i'll sing to you lord :: a hymn of love :: for Your faithfulness
to me :: i'm carried in everlasting arms :: you'll never let me go :: through it all :: hillsongs australia, "through it all" ::

My TaLeNts...

Wow, its been quite a while since my last update. Well...gee...looks like i have lots to say. Everyday there's something new. Changes is everywhere. We can't stop things from changing. I wished that I could write more about my events and all, but the new term in school has been really hectic, and gosh! I have incomplete sch H/w!! But well, everyone still need some rest rite? So here I am, writing in my current entry( a quick one) A brief update of events in March 2004:

13- 17 March: School holz?? Nah...wasnt really one. In fact i needed to return back to school 6 days a week (excluding Sunday) Yeah, preparations for my school choir's Concert at VCH. Go at 9.30am, and back at 6pm. *ALERT! ALERT!* I'm dehydrating from singing, and soon to die from exhaustion....WAAAATTTERR!!!

18 March: Day of the concert, went early in the morning as well. This time I played quite a role in the concert, I am one of the 4 girls chosen to do an interpretative dance on the song 'On My Own' ~ Les Miserables Musical. The teachers were impressed my my performance, had lotsa of comments like "V.good, lots of expression", "Able to feel the melacholic atmosphere" Yeah! Glad for myself, here's a tip, key to Bravo!: CONFIDENCE. I was also chosen to play bigger roles in the musical Disney Dazzle (see pic below), we are called "Umbrella Girls" In the song Under The Sea, we had umbrellas to act as jeelyfish, cool improvisation! And the next big thing was that i was chosen to be one of the 10 choir members to have a chat with the VIPs during the intermission. Let's see..i recalled talking to the Guest-Of- Honour (Supridendant, East6 Cluster Schs), my sch's principal, vice principal, and other teachers as well. On an overall, I had lotsa fun since this time I get more exposure compared to the previous concert. Yes indeed...let time lead the way..and like my Mom said "Your talents (given by God, praise Him! Amen.) will soon be discovered. Be patient."

Can you find me?

~ Disney Dazzle, "Friend Like Me"

22- 27 March: Very hectic, rushing with some holz assignment still undone. Lotsa tests lining up, better buck up! But of cos I havent been forgetting my wonderful, merciful heavenly Father in heaven, God. Been glad that I did my QT regularly, and most imporatantly- seriously. Oh yes on the 25 March 04, borrowed books from my sch's NLB outreach programme, by God's grace, i found $10 note...wow..very uncommon...Thank You Lord. It's not luck, but you, who chose me to have it. Will give u 50% of what you gave me back to extend your kingdom.

28 March: Indeed. I have kept my promise to God and gave $5 as offering. The worship today has touched me, i literally teared when Doc led "Through It All", Joanna and Pam who happen to sit beside me placed their arms around me...i teared further. Don't get me wrong, not that I am currently suffering emotionally, but its more of THANKSGIVING to the Lord for blessing me so much so far. Not only am i doing well in my studies, been more generous and kinder to my friends, but above all I have been growing in Him more spiritually. :)

Today: Had my English debate during class discussion. Prepared last week, was speaker 2 for rebuttal. I was glad to hear good comments coming from my friends that i did a great job, and especially coming from my English teacher. I was voted the best speaker for the day. Thanks to everyone whom helped me along. Quite exhausted from choir (again. resumed this week), just came back awhile ago. After this going to have my dinner, and yes back to work...which just reminds me that i've got a Chem Valency Test tml...yeah.

Till my next update, ciao!

It's Magic!

Let's see...one moment Saffie's like a 'Xiao Kao', possibly grinning frm cheek to cheek...

17 Feb 2004

...and the next moment you'll see her very 'Lem Bek'. Magic huh!

Yep, that's right! Saffie had her sterilisation done this afternoon. I couldnt see her at the OP room as i had to attend school in the morning. So Mom drove her to Namly Animal Clinic at 9am and wished her all the best! The vet would perform the whole op from 12-2pm, so poor (she's a freedom gal at home, no cage, nothing!) Saffie was put in a grilled enclosure. Wonder what her reaction was... Mom shrugs her shoulders, shaking her head saying, "Beats me!" Neway, time sure did fly really fast, and at 4pm Mom and I were already at the clinic to pick up Saffie. I was prepared to see her really weak and all...so yeah, she looked really really pathetic. Now i really wished she were as hyper as before, its better than having some sick puppy stumbling around (strong anaethestic). The vet advised us to let her rest the whole day, no playing, no walks, no games. B-O-R-I-N-G.

That's so much for Saffie's update. Now let's come back to me, yes ME! :D Really satisfied with my common tests results. March Holiday starts today. Busy with the upcoming choir concert (18 Mar). Guess its no picnic this March holz... and lastly, LOADS and loads, TONNES and tonnes of holiday assignments! So i betta start doing now, if not i'll just go CRASH! into the wall.

Till my next update, you have a great weekend ahead!

So being generous does pay off doesn't it? Yes, i think it does. Check out the many b'dae presents that i received from my friends from school!!! Wow, it surely was great fun opening the wrapper that reveals all these awesome gifts. Let's see: Precious Moments Musical Waterball, Maltese puppy jigsaw puzzle, Billabong pencil case, water bottle, Mickey Mouse bottle of stars, a Teeshirt, Hmm...did i miss out on anything? I was really amazed that though my school friends may still be quite new to me, but i guess, we can click off very well from the start...

However, sigh...i expected church people to at least say Happy Birthday or sumthin, quite depressed bt that. Some didnt even know! Oh yes, thanks Becky and Suelynn for remembering! Becky, thanks for hand-making my Bdae card, really appreciate. This month, i tink Doc missed out on February babies. Maybe by reading u thought that i yearn for lots and lots of presents. Well it's not exactly about receiving presents, that's secondary. It's more about feeling appreciated and about being remembered. This year i try really hard to make people see me as a kind, loving, generous and fun person to be with. In my previous blog, i did mention about making cards, taking SO MUCH time to specially write a note during Valentine's Day to people in my worship team to show appreciation. Expected a reply note, even if it is just a short "Thank You". But i think i did not receive any of that. Well, maybe i'll just let time lead the way, pray harder maybe? Be less impatient about things? Yah...i guess i'll do just that.

Kk, this is getting way depressing now. Let's check out the cheerful side of things, yesterday went out with Yee Shin to Orchard, bought a Ripcurl school bag $45. Haha...Bdae present accumulated by "bdae hong baos" frm Dad and Sis. My maid got me a pair of flipflops. Mom got me a new Nokia 3200 Hp (early present on Jan).

On overall, this year is by far the best birthday ever of my life! Yes, shall reiterate, the sense of appreciation, i would say, especially coming from my school friends (which i never expected!), and for that, i give my praises back to God. Amen.

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I was so glad that today's worship leading went smoothly. Mistakes were less obvious than before. So much improvement. And most importantly, i had finally understood the true meaning of the Heart Of Worship. Amen.

Prepared since a week ago, and i feel really happy upon the smooth completion of my duty to the Lord. I remember this frm Prime (Yeshus '04) "Continue to shine for the Lord! Keep the fire burning girl!" This applied to me, now i'm passing the same note to others. I made 17 cards in total and prepared little gifts(japanese goodies) for the worship ministry people.

I have finally understood the word "generosity". I make them happy. And when they thank me, just one simple "Thank You", it really makes my day. I really understand how everything works now. Its like a food chain. Everything links to one another. I'll take note of this, and work exactly the same with my friends in school. I hope to keep their friendship close to my heart and never to let it go, if not it'll just be like the past where i had no friends and everyone hated me.

Valentine's Day or any other occasions are really good times to reflect on my life and to take the opportunity to thank and show appreciation to all your closed friends and relatives. And of cos 'to learn from past mistakes and to never make those same mistakes again. Never again.

Hey I'm Back! Pretty fast huh. Well, see i miss blogger already...hehe :P

I'm So Blessed

I was touched by Doc's bible class last Sun. It was regarding how Christ stands in our life. When it was my turn to give the percentage for christ and others, it was 30% and 70% respectively. Yeah so that's so much for 15 yrs of my life so far...It's quite pathetic rite?

So, i decided to take a step closer. I did my QT properly, not just spending 5 mins each morn reading the reflections but reading the verses and meditating the words. I also tried committing everything (and i really mean EVERYTHING)i do in prayer to God, and whatever i do is for His glory.

And surprisingly, it is really true. Indeed, communication with God really improve my gift in prayer, and of cos acts as a great aid in planning my worship order for this Sun (I'm leadin..). Not only did i notice that, i am so blessed. Everything went smoothly, in school, outside, and at home. And most importantly, during today's Total Defence Emergency Exercise held in school, i used the time (2 hrs seating in the field) by getting to know Yee Shin (my classmate/choirmate) better, and somehow i felt this calling frm God to preach the gospel to her. I started telling her so much about God's love, How we can cast our cares on him, Pray, etc... I went on and on, and finally ended with a prayer with her, with my hands placed next to her. I also told her about the sinner's prayer.

I really hope to convert her to Christianity. Those who read this, do continue to pray for my friend Yee Shin and me as well.

That's so much for today. Ciao & God Bless!

Tests? Actually, no big deal really. Cos I have tests practically every week. If the week's not an A Maths test, den it'll be P Chem, or P Phys or E Maths or Geog and the list goes on... hmm...Not much revision to do so far, been rather consistent in my work lately. Plus, first few chapters are normally recaps frm last yr's work. So i guess it should be quite a breeze this time for me. Other then the gals, i cant seem to remember their faces, wad more their names! You see, there's a total of 42 of us, and 16 are gals, so that makes 26 guys. To make things more difficult, they all look the same! The same hairdo. Same heights. Same style of speaking. Etc...Etc...

Can u imagine 26 guys! Imagine the noise pollution! And yes, not forgetting those 'wierdos'. There's Lollipop Guy, Twirlerrina & Kopitiam. Haha..aren't i evil? I gave them those nicknames! :P

Mr Lollipop

First of all, i've really gotta mention this guy. He's not only EXTREMELY disgusting, but also VERY very very childish. Why he's named as lollipop? Well his fav pen has this top part just like the size and shape of a Chupa Chup and he enjoys licking it (for god knows wad reason!). He also loves 'cleaning' his head with his cold water bottle. And as if he has never seen an OHP in his life, loves making shadows by curling his fingers into shapes of a flying bird/ of aeroplane by putting his hands over the OHP screen. Wad's worst is that, he actually does that in front of the teacher! Sigh...he's always disrupting the class. However, our class always burst into laughters upon 'witnessing' those wierd behaviour of his.

===============================================

Twirlerrina

Other then his 'cant keep out this habit' of twirling his hair (hello! he's a guy...), there's no other comments.

================================================

Kopitiam

It's not like his father owns the famous food court Kopitiam, he talks like one, that's it! "Wao Lauuuuuuu...." is one of his fav phrases. Well all i can say is that imagine him as a walking loudspeaker.

=================================================

After all my caustic remarks, somehow i'll give these poor guys a break. There's some credit though. Without them, this class won't be as fun. I laugh on a average say 10 times a day? Anyway, on an overall, i must say that this class rocks!

Welcome CNY 2004!

In a blink of an eye, its the traditional chinese new year again. Terry, my dwarf hamster just died! OMG! Am i dreaming or was it really true? Is it really dead? How can it be? He's only a mere 2 yr old creature. Thoughts of disbelief came bombarding my mind...

How i wish i could spend more time with little Terry boy. Ever since i got Saffie, i ignored him totally. First, we shifted his home from the breezy living room to the humid & warm utility room (situated near the kitchen). I never really 'sayang' him like i did always. When i feel lonely, i would bend down to it's home and talk to it. But not anymore. Next, my mom's friend who gave us Terry, requested to take him home for breeding. 2 weeks past, and the breeding was still unsuccesful. My mom's friend described Terry as a loner, timid and aggressive sometimes, as in it'll bite. Then during the next 3 weeks, i heard no news about him. Then today, i got the shocking news.

During the past one month, i did not get to take a last look at Terry, nor touched his while smooth fur coat. Now that it's gone, i really do feel hurt and miss him lots. As always, we never paid much attention to Terry, so yeah its different from Saffie. She has her own photo album which includes pics of her from days old to months old. In fact, if you have noticed clearly, Saffie is treated as a 'SHE', a part of us. Whereas, poor Terry still as an 'IT'.

Now i really regret those times i didn't spend more time with HIM. Now realising my mistake, i will acknowlegde him as a part of the family. But isn't it too late now??

:: you can spend your whole life analyzing :: justifying,
quantifying, and dividing :: 'till there's nothing anymore ::
why don't you just close your eyes :: and kiss my lips and let it go ::
just let it flow :: it's what I'm waiting for :: hilary duff, "the math" ::

Now I'm currently listening to the CD Metamorphosis by Hilary Duff. The topic was something about third world countires and your reflections on it.

Not much H/W given this week. So its kindda relaxed. Normally, i wouldnt write my reflections always after reading a book. "It's just time-consuming!" I thought. However, this time, this is definitely worth writing an entry.

Yes, there were threads of cool tears streaking down my cheeks. It was extremely touching and moving at the second last chapter. A girl,Jantu, died shortly after the main character sang her favourite lullaby to sleep. She was a very strong and determined girl. Only at the age of 13, and she already have the qualities of a matured woman. The whole setting of the story was taken in Cambodio during the Communist Khmer Rouge regime. The whole story was mainly about how the main character, Dara and her family managed to survive through. Ho Mingfong was able to describe vividly how they felt and reacted during those difficut times.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs encouragement, or have gone through hard times. This book will definitely boost your spirits up.

I have gone through emotionally difficult periods before, and i realised that i have always lost all the determination to fight against all negative thoughts and be positive. This year, I'm determined to go through any difficult situation (if there is). I will learn to be as strong like Jantu. Keep the fighting spirit burning!

It's the second day of school today. Feel really refreshed... surprisingly WOW! I can tell that the start of the year has been going really smooth so far. New friends. New teachers. Feeling perky & cheerful. basically- less stressed...really..so much lesser then my previous year. That, i'm sure cos' i've simply changed! The way i think, feel and how i see things are totally different now. I have changed my perspectives. School is fun. A place for a long journey thru the world called 'Education & Learning Experience' that can last a lifetime. Exams and tests no longer seems like 'monsters' anymore. Friends become 'attracted' to me. As in this time, friends COME to me, not I go to them. First we had dinner together at Centrepoint Foodcourt. It was 7pm then. Realised that Holland Village was really a popular tv programme as i noticed that over at an area without the television, it was totally empty! And that the area with the TVs was packed with people, sitting there, eating and watching at the same time. *blushes* I'm one of them too! I even saw this scene where an 'Aunty' even rushed to grab this sit right in front of the TV screen and put her umbrella there, to (what we call) 'CHOP' seat. yeah...KIASU Singaporeans.

After our main course, we had desserts - yeah..ICE KACHANG.

Here's a tip to all Becky's close friends, wanna get to know her more? Just remember add ICE into her Likes list and Corns and other ingredients of the dessert into her Dislikes list, i was practically eating up all the corn stuff. I was surprised that i felt totally different when i entered the school, saw my choir members and my ex-classmates. The feeling wasn't a negative one, instead a very optimistic one. I was walking in with this big smile, head lifted up high in full stride. Woo Hoo! It was so good being back and seeing all my friends.

Today morning, i met some more of my ex-classmates. I waved to them and said Hi. Normally, i wouldn't even look straight into their eyes, and would feel rather inferior..beats me. I was back again for a school annual dental checkup. The dentist was really friendly, kindda comical too! Arggh!!! Guess wad...i was recommended to go on braces. My lower jaw has crowded teeth, so yah, there goes...Dr Dentistman wrote a letter addressed to my mom. Looks like i have to get ready for a another day to the Dentists'. Initially, I thought that it was some joke, but it turned out to be a real true story.

After reading this article, I came to realise that it is a true fact that in this modern present day, there are still 27 million million slaves in the world- all around us, but it just seem largely invisible to us. I really had no idea about this until I read about it through this article.

I would want to comment on the writer, Andrew Cockburn, for writing this amazing story. The way he wrote this article was so captivating that it kept me so engrossed in it, and in some parts of the story, it made me wanna cry. I have never looked at the world the same way again. I have learnt to be more appreciative of the things I have. I am so grateful to God that he provided me with a good and loving family, such a peaceful life with no hardship and no worries of having no roof under my head. I have everything I wanted, but yet I always seem to be so unsatisfied. Why? I guess it's mainly because I have never gone through any form of hardships, and so I tend to take things for granted. Now I am enlightened.

The "21st-Century Slaves" article may have some effect on you as it had on me. You may cry. You may be sickened. You may be riveted, unable to stop reading. Or you may decide you can't bear any more, and flip to the next article. But, I would still recommend you to read because I think you should know about what exactly is going on in the world. Here's my promise, just like what the editor of National Geographic had promised readers like me: If you read the story that begins on page 2, you'll never look at the world the same way again.

It has been almost a week since the first launching of STDM- Singapore Teens Doggie Mania. Our club has a total of almost 20 members. Wow! That's not bad at all! I have been doing English the whole afternoon. I am so glad that i managed to stay through and focus on completing the English assignment which my sister had given me. Even since i took a break from school since July, i havent really been taking out my textbooks and revising. Most of my time was researching about Dogs, playing games online etc... It was actually quite a hopeless break. But now i finally thought through this, and now i guess its time for me to get back to reality. I had my break for almost 4 solid months already, while others were busy preparing for their year end exams, so i guess now is my turn to slog. I'll just start afresh from now on and prepare for the new year next year.

Yes i know that i haven't been updating my blog, hey but i do have a good excuse! She's such a pain in the a*s but i'll just have to live with it. She was really very disobedient this morning, her normal grooming routine every morning would go smoothly but today, sigh sigh...she had such itchy legs, run here and run there. Now i'm dead tired after playing 'catching' with her. This is a TOUGH job!!! Arghh!

It's pretty cool having a blog, its a place where we can write anything, and i mean really ANYTHING under the sun! This is my first and probably my longest! :P

Here it goes....

UNDERSTOOD-ED

A new chapter of my life begins a few weeks ago when my first puppy arrived home. It was a totally exciting experience where i get to play the role as a 'Mom' to my new pup. I remembered, even before my pup arrived, i have already thought of her name. See, this is how enthusisatic i am! This dog to me is something special, my soulmate. She is my very best friend whom i can share my happiness and sorrows with. She is that important just like a precious stone and thus that's how her name came about - Hearts Of Sapphire. That's her real long name, but her call name is Saffie.

In this new chapter of my life, I have understood alot about parenthood. And now with this experience, with myself in my parents shoes, i fully understand the difficulties that my own parents faced. Now, i start to understand them more and see that their love is there forever. I can understand that in the past when they discipline me, it hurts them so much to take out that rod to smack us....

Now, my very first time, I'm holding this same old rod which my parents used it on me last time, and now I am not sparing the rod on Saffie as well. Sometimes, i just wish Saffie would stop playing with her water bowl and stop biting the newspapers, i cannot understand what she's thinking. I was filled with rage and i took out that wooden stick and struck her. "Piang!" I recalled those times when my parents did that. I hated them that moment whenever they did that. I would call them names and retaliate. But Saffie did not, she understood that she was in the wrong, tilt her head down and walked back to her cage. Now seeing her like this, makes me wanna cry, tears are starting to roll down my cheeks and i have finally understood that DISCIPLINING a kid is never something enjoyable. And now i understand the role as a parent. Mom and Dad, this is to you all -> Give yourself a pat on the back for doing a marvellous job bringing me up till this age of 15. :)

Here are just some thoughts: Why cant we just learn from Saffie, SELF CONTROL? Is it so tough for us to do? *beats me* Maybe its just human nature......
